My Devolutions

“Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” (Luke 22:42).

A lot of unrest, the lack of peace, the turmoil in life could be from us not surrendering our will to the Father. At times we all struggle and strive for what we want. What we think will make us happy and satisfied. Conversely, we avoid the thing that we think will make us unhappy or dissatisfied. We ask and plead with God to give us what we want. But God knows what we need.

“Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?” (Matthew 7:9)

1). We need to learn to trust Him.

2). We need to continually submit our will to His.

He knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows what’s good for us and what we need. He knows what will really make us happy and fulfilled. He has a plan for our lives. He will only give us what is best. He knows exactly what we need.

We need to put our desires, our will on the altar (see James 4:7).

Our natural selves are afraid to let go of what we have perceived that will make us fulfilled. When we do, we will find rest and peace. (See Matthew 11:28-30).

He gives us “good” gifts.
