When I moved to San Antonio Texas from my country home in Ohio was taken back by the way people drive here. One of the first things I noticed was the flashing neon sign along highway I-35; “Welcome to Texas. Drive Friendly”. I first thought, how nice they even have a sign reminding drivers to be courteous!

I soon came to realize however, that was not the case. People here drive like they’re on crack! They speed. They cut in and out of their lanes. They don’t signal. They actually speed up to get to a stoplight first like you’d get a prize if you beat everyone else there.

However, if you were out in public people are the nicest they can be. They call you ma’am or sir. They say, “ya all” when they speak. When entering a restaurant a complete stranger will hold the door for you. Yet the moment they get behind the wheel it’s take they’re taken over by some demon entity. Dr. Jekyll becomes Mr. Hyde the moment they get behind the wheel. I soon came to realize that the reason those signs are there is to remind the drives to drive friendly because they don’t!

Then I began to think how often in life we misinterpret the meaning of signs. All that’s happening in the world today and in our country seems really bad. However, I believe the Lord is showing us that he’s coming back very soon and for us to be ready. So “let not your heart be troubled” by these signs. ” Rejoice for your redemption is near ”
