On December 13, 2022 President Biden signed the Respect For Marriage Act into law. At first glance you may be thinking, “good! I’m all for respecting marriage”. But looking deeper, this law isn’t about respecting the Biblical definition of marriage of “one man and one woman”, it’s about furthering and advancing homosexual unions. It’s about providing gay and lesbian couples the same protections and rights that heterosexual couples enjoy under the law. In essence, its the United States Federal government sanctioning gay marriage…. again. Despite the fact that same-sex marriage was already made legal on June 26, 2015, it was a significant piece of LGBTQI+ rights legislation.
One of the other things that this law does is it threatens religious liberty. US Republican Senator Pat Toomey stated, “This legislation would enable activist to sue faith-based groups that provide vital services to our communities in an attempt to force them to abandon their deeply held beliefs about marriage, or close their doors.” And if you thought they demanded a Christian bakery to bake a gay cake, you ain’t seen nothin yet!
If we go back a little further, in 2003 the US Supreme Court struck down all sodomy laws. I’m sure you recognize the word sodom in sodomy, and you should. As in the Bible where the Lord God destroyed the cites of Sodom and Gomorrah because they gave themselves over to homosexuality. Even though both in the Old and New Testament God calls it sin, America says, “nope, it isn’t.” She doesn’t realize that “God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; (Rom 1:28), “who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them”.(Rom 1:31)
So let’s take a look at some of those who were there not only to approve, but to also who were there to celebrate this monumental occasion. There were Drag Queens on hand. One of them was Marti Allen-Cummings. That’s her, him, whatever, with the black hair and black and white dress pictured above. Cummings tweeted: “To be invited to the White House is something I never imagined would happen. Thank you President & Dr. Biden for inviting me to this historic bill signing. Grateful doesn’t begin to express the emotions I feel.” However there are a number of controversial tweets. Like the one above, “The kids are out to sing and suck d!” And, “anyone who thinks drag isn’t for children is wrong.” Add to this the Men’s Gay Chorus of Washington, DC, and a strong showing of the LGBTQI+++++++ community… and then you have a trifecta of debauchery. This your government folks. These are the people who you elected to office. O’ what? You didn’t vote? “My pastor doesn’t talk about politics”. “We’re not of this world.” Well here’s a news flash. You live in this world! Your kids and grandkids go to school in this world! The people you elect…or don’t elect, make laws that govern you in this world! And if you don’t think your personal freedoms can’t be suspended you have already forgotten what they did to you during Covid-19.
I give you a quote from Vice president Kamala Harris on that day, “And the great Harvey Milk once said, I quote, ‘Rights are won only by those who make their voices heard’ ..”And because you made your voices heard, marriages are more secure and Joe Biden is our president. A president who elevated LGBTQI+ leaders to every level of our administration..”
This is the result of our dereliction of duty as stewards. We were bequeathed a nation founded upon the Holy Bible and the belief in the God of that Bible
