Everyone knows the adage, ” Red shy at night sailors delight, red sky in the morning sailor’s warning.”
Jesus told all those who wanted a sign to prove who he is, He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red, and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.” Matt 16:2-3 NIV
It amazes me that most Christians can’t discern the times that we are living in today. Where are those in the church who have discernment?
Jesus was angry with the “spiritual leaders” of the time of his earthly ministry. “Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky. How is it that you don’t know how to interpret this present time?” Luke 12:54 NIV
Where are those like that of the tribe of Issachar today?
” of the half-tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, who were designated by name to come and make David king; 32 of the sons of Issachar (A)who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their command;” Chronicles 12:31-32
Let’s take a closer look at the signs of the times found in 2 Tim 3:1-5
3) people will only love themselves and their money. (Do you know of any such people like that today?)
4) They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God.
5) They will be disobedient to parents. ( Have you ever seen such disrespect for parents as you’ve seen today?)
6) They will be ungrateful. (People have a sense of entitlement today. They’re not grateful for anything)
7) They will consider nothing sacred. (This has to do with the things of God, his word and marriage)
8) They will be unloving, and unforgiving. The bible says that “the love of many will wax cold.”
9) They will slander others
10) They will betray their friends.
11) They will be puffed up with pride. (“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble”)
12) they will be unloving and unforgiving.
13) They will love pleasure more than they love God. (They will be hedonistic. Meaning, whatever gives them pleasure will be their main pursuit)
13) They will act religious but will have no power to live a godly lifestyle.
We are warned to stay away from people like that of the above. But instead I see the opposite. There are many Christians that make these people their friends.
I ask you, do you think we’re living in the last days?
Church, no one is going to know the exact day of the Lord’s return, but we should be able to discern the signs of the times. I won’t copy it all here, but read Matt 24:1-24 and see where you think we are.
You may agree or disagree with me, but I truly believe we are living in the last days. Some other indicators; the rapid increase of evil, godliness, sexual pervertion, crime,an increase of murder, rape, child abuse, human trafficking, pronography accepted as a normal behavior, subverted justice, and the onslaught of attacks on people of faith. And of particular concern is the attack on the minds of our children via our secular education system, which I call “indoctrination camps’.
Most Christians aren’t even aware of what’s happening to our own country. And if they are aware, they think it not “spiritual” to get involved.
The very fabric of our nation is being torn apart. There’s a push to dismantle our Judeo-Christian heritage, our form of government, our freedoms, our constitution and history.
All those who try and live a righteous life and ascribe to Biblical principals are vilified. Deemed intolerant. The truth now is labeled “hate speech.”
We have not yet seen the pursecution here in the U.S. that’s happening to our brothers and sisters in many other countries, but it’s coming. It’s coming and are we prepared? Will we bow down to their idols or like Danial refuse, no matter what the personal cost. Better yet, will there be any Daniels today and tomorrow? The Lord said, “But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth those who have faith?” Luke 18:8(b) The amplified says, “will he find (this kind of persistent) faith on the earth.” He was referring to the parable of the persistent widow. It will take this kind of faith to endure in these last days.
The bible warns that the last days will be terrible times. Perilous times. Again, it will be very difficult for those who’s aim is to live a godly lifestyle. Many will fall away from the true faith.
Are you able to discern the times we’re living in? Are you pushing back against this wave of evil that’s overtaking our country? Are you willing to “suffer for righteousness sake”? Will you be able to endure in this wicked, evil culture without being contaminated by it?
Whether you want to be or not, you are in a war. Albeit a spiritual war. And you are going to have to make a decision. Daily. Even hour by hour at times. And you are fighting for you eternal spiritual life!
I don’t know about you, but I believe we’re in the last days right now. And by the grace of God I want to be like Daniel, “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” Daniel 3:17-18 Will we serve the gods of this present evil day in which we are living?
It is now “Red sky in the morning”. This is a warning! “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” Matt 11:15
