A lot of people today are afraid to say what they feel about certain subjects. There are just certain words and phrases that are simply off limits, even if it’s the truth; especially if it’s the truth. Speaking or writing the truth can make your life difficult. It all depends on what words you use. I call them “no” words.
Words are containers of our thoughts. Words are powerful. We use words to warn, define, persuade, motivate, and express how we feel about someone or something. Speaking our mind is one, if not the most basic, of our human rights. Here in America, The First Amendment guarantees us “the right of free speech”. However, today this right is under fire. There are many today who seek to stifle certain words or expressions that are contrary to the prevailing narrative. He who controls propaganda, news, and social media can now censor those who speak or write anything they deem as not politically correct. They do this by accusing certain discourse as being “offensive” or by simply labeling it as “misinformation.” But who gets to decide what’s misinformation or offensive? They do. They’re the “thought police”. “They”, the aforementioned, are the covertly sanctioned authorities who control the media. Moreover, not only can they control what is being said, they can and substitute certain words or phrases for others, thus changing the meaning altogether. I will cite a few examples later. But let’s first see how they’ve already used social media to stifle free speech via censorship. Note, this is what communist countries do to control their people. And make no mistake, it’s all about control.
In October of 2020 news broke about the existence of the Hunter Biden “laptop from Hell”. What we now know to be a fact, is that in 2019, Hunter took his PC to a Delaware computer shop owned by John Paul Mac. What Mac found on the laptop seemed to be very incriminating if not down right illegal. He voluntarily turned over the laptop to the FBI, but not before he made a copy of the hard drive. The FBI sat on it. When news started to leak out it was immediately labeled “Russian misinformation” by social media giants, Facebook and Tweeter, until, after the 2020 presidential election. In an article by Politifact published February 9, 2023, by Lise Stefanik, she stated, “53% of Americans made aware of the Hunter Biden laptop story would have changed their vote in 2020.” 53%! How was this not election interference?
Additionally, according to an article published September 1, 2023, “The Biden administration colluded with tech companies like Facebook and Twitter to censor “misinformation” on COVID -19, according to a petition filed by Louisiana AG Jeff Landry and Missouri AG Eric Schmitt.” Moreover, I can tell you first hand, because I got censored by the Good Neighbor social media platform. I believe it was sometime in the Fall of 2020 that I sought to quote a medical professional who said that the number of deaths recorded to be attributed to Covid-19 was grossly overstated. When I went to publish the post, I got an automatic popup warning me that I was about to publish something about Covid that went against the CDC, governmental guidelines, and hence violated Good Neighbor’s policies and procedures.
Now let’s take a look at how these thought police redefine certain words and phrases to make them mean something totally different.
- The term “junkie” went from the term “addict” to “a person with a substance disorder.” It’s not his fault. He has a disorder.
- A “sodomite” went to a “homosexual” and then to “gay”. In other words, it went from a gross sexual sin, punishable by law, to something totally acceptable and even to be viewed as happy or “gay”, and then to a lifestyle to be proud of. O’ and by the way, they’re not responsible, they were born that way. Just ask, Lady Gaga.
- The word “bum” went to “unhoused person.” They had no choice in the matter. We owe them housing. Period. End of story.
- An “illegal immigrant” went to “Undocumented person” and then to “Migrant”. They didn’t do anything illegal, although in reality they did according to 8 U.S. Code 1325. A Migrant is “a person who moves from one place to another, especially in order to find work or better living conditions.” By the way, the drug cartels, child sex traffickers, and MS-13, are in full agreement!
- “Genital mutilation” went to “gender affirming care.” It’s healthcare, damnit! Who could be against that?
- “Abortion” is simply “Women’s Healthcare”. And a baby inside of the womb is a fetus. Note, you can kill a fetus (it’s not a human being), but if you kill a “baby”….well that’s murder.
- “Pedophile” is now a “Minor Attracted Person.” Pedophiles are looked upon as disgusting perverts who need to be locked up. A minor attracted person just has a sexual proclivity towards little boys or little girls. It’s not that bad. It’s not his fault!
- “Criminal” went to a “justice-involved person.” “Criminals break the law and deserve punishment. “Justice-involved people are passive characters; if active at all, they sound as though they pursue justice. And only a cruel society would punish someone for pursuing justice.” (p.49 Speechless, by Michael Knowles) In other words, those who rioted, looted, and burned business to the ground causing havoc during “the summer of love” in 2020, were “social justice warriors.”
- “Marriage” went from being “one man and one woman” to “the state of being united to a person as spouse in a legal, consensual, and contractional relationship.”
- “Husband and Wife” went to “partner” or “significant other.”
- “Mother” went to “birthing person”.
- “Parent” went to “legal guardian.”
- “Family” is now “a group of persons united by the ties of marriage, blood, or adoption, constituting a single household..” And the traditional family? Forget about it. It’s fast becoming a red herring.
- “Gender”, just in case you were living under a rock, is now no longer defined by biology. It’s what you “feel” that you are inside. Because feeling is reality. Thank God for existentialism!
I hope I haven’t bored you too badly…yet, but please indulge me just a bit longer. Below is my fav!
- “Bad child”. Today if a child has a behavior problem and acts out in school, it’s not his or her fault. As a young boy my mother used to tell me, “Joel, stay away from Johnny Ross (not his name), he’s a bad little boy and I don’t want you to learn any bad habits.” Understand Mom, there are no “bad” children. They’re just displaying “unwanted behaviors.” You see, little Johnny doesn’t need discipline or to be accountable for his actions. He just needs understanding, counseling, a “peace corner”, medication, and positive reinforcement. Every time he does what he’s supposed to do, he should get a reward. This is the essence of “behavior modification” now. There’s nothing punitive about it. If he curses at, hits or kicks a teacher, well the teacher just needs to understand. He must have had some traumatic event happen to him or has an unfortunate home life. He’s not responsible for his actions, the teacher needs to change her approach and make sure she doesn’t use any “trigger” words. After the third slap or so, she’ll learn!
Well, there you have it. By canceling and redefining certain words, you can still have semi-free speech. If you use “no” words be prepared to suffer the consequences. If simi-free speech is okay with you, they’ve won.
