By now I’m sure you’ve heard that there’s a new pandemic in town, namely Monkeypox. What is it and where did it come from? “Monkeypox is a zoonotic virus, meaning it transfers from animals to humans. …it belongs to the Orthopoxvirus genus of viruses, which includes smallpox.” (Medicalnewstoday.com) The majority of infections started in the Democratic Republic of Congo, central Africa. It’s mostly transferred through anal and oral sex between men. Ninety-eight percent of the cases are in the gay or bisexual community. Similarly, to how AIDs was spread, only not nearly as lethal. The symptoms include, fever, headache, chills, exhaustion, swollen lymph nodes, and a very noticeable rash.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has responded by stating the following.
- The WHO declared monkeypox a global health emergency.
- The rare designation means the WHO now views the outbreak as a significant enough threat to global health that a coordinated international response is needed.
- The WHO last issued a global health emergency in January 2020 in response to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Here in the U.S. the Biden administration declared that Monkeypox is a health emergency and has set aside over 8 million dollars to deal with it. Parenthetically, the 8mm is provided by us, the American taxpayer. America has the second highest Monkeypox outbreaks in the world. Second only to Spain. Moreover, it should be noted that San Francisco is the epicenter of the outbreak. California lawmaker Scott Wiener, D-San Francisco, issued a statement urging Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom to declare a state of emergency. In a tweet Wiener (no pun intended) wrote, ” It’s time for California & San Francisco to declare a state of emergency on monkeypox. Monkeypox isn’t contained. It’s spreading & we don’t have enough vaccines or testing. A state of emergency allows flexibility on testing, contracting for services & vaccine administration.”
I liken San Fransico to a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah. It has the most GLBT residents in America. According to a Gallup poll done in 2015, 6.2 % of San Fransico-Oakland-Hayword inhabitants identified as LGBT. Additionally, a 2006 survey found that 15.4% identified as LGBT.
I cited all the above information for one reason only. The reason is to show the moral depravity of our country today. I could make this case just as well by showing you how pervasive pornography, human sex trafficking and abortion is. But I’ll save that for another time.
From a Biblical vantagepoint, simply stated, God calls any form of sexual deviancy, sin. ” Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,” I Cor 1:9 NKJV
All STDs, AIDS, Monkeypox and the like, are all manifestations resulting in man braking God’s laws. Romans 1:27 NIV, “In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.”
If you’ve noticed, the WHO, the Biden administration, or any Lawmakers will admit that the reason we’re dealing with Monkeypox is the result of sexual sin. And seldom, will you even hear such from the pulpit. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the church today has little to zero effect on our secular, godless society. Much of the Church has become little more than a feckless social club wrapped in a cocoon of four walls.
Monkeypox is more than just monkey business, it’s the outward manifestation of sexual sin. And we should call it what it is. “Let God be true but every man a liar.”
