In Genesis 6:4-6 we find what I call the first record of Demon Possesion, “Nephilim were on the earth in those days–and also afterward–when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.”
This is a controversial passage of scripture and there are differing opinions, but I believe these are the fallen angels, otherwise known as demonds. If you go to Jude 1:6 I believe the reference is to them,
” the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling–these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day.”
Jesus casts out those that were enslaved by demonds. See Luke 8:2
and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out;”

We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. I John 5:19
These are highly intelligent, very powerful, eternal, spirit beings. They were cast down to earth and operate in the souls of men and women. The Bible says that they are “rulers of darkness in heavenly places.”
They are responsible for perversion, violence, war, disharmony, drug addiction, human trafficking, pornography, and many other vile and dirty things.
Do you think a little girl says, when I grow up I want to be a prostitute and sell my body and let strangers use my body for their sexual gratification?
“Hey Johnny, what do you want to be when you grow up?” “I want to be a drug addict.” No!
Make no mistake, they are like their master, Satan. He comes to kill, steal and destroy. Why, you may ask? Well they know their fate. They know that they will be cast into the lake of fire. They know their time is short. However, they want to inflict as much pain and suffering as they can. By doing this they are trying to hurt God by destroying his magnificent creation, man. Glory be to God, that he sent his Son to save all that will call upon his name. John 3:16
However, he has not redeemed this fallen world as yet. The curse from the Garden remains until he makes all things new.
