New Living Translation
“When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power, they groan.”
This is where we are as a nation today. We are all suffering from our evil, lying, leadership. We, as a nation, are reaping what we have sown. You say, what have I done to deserve this? We stood by and let it happen. We were silent. We were complacent. We were looking out only for our personal interests.
We inherited a free land where godliness flourished, but we allowed ungodliness to attain control. Now we find ourselves in bondage. We were to be good Stuarts of the land, but we abdicated our responsibility.
We need to repent. We need to turn back to God. We need to confront the wickedness that encompasses our nation.
